After 13 years at Creative and after what must be about 20 years since he first went on the road, Creative Couriers Pedalbike Controller Martin Mullins is working his final shift today.
If your a regular reader you'll know Buffalo Bill is one of the controllers at Creative but it's Martin who's in charge of the circuit. The reason I've never mentioned him before is he's a private kinda guy who probably doesn't want to be talked about on the internet* ...but he's moving to Germany so what's he gonna do?
I've worked at loads of companies over the years and the most important thing in making the job enjoyable and worthwhile is the quality of the controlling and I can honestly say I've not come across anyone better than Martin. He combines the soothing radio manner of Radio 2's Terry Wogan with the unflappability of Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore from Apocalypse Now and he will be sorely missed. I could keep on gushing but Wayne from Headwrecker made this lovely tribute and due to the fact that I've just spent half the fucking afternoon trying to work out how to upload audio to this blog I'll just leave it to Tina to sum up how the Creative riders feel about Martin:
*and every smart messenger knows the one thing you don't want to do is displease someone who has the power to slap you all day ( and I don't mean in the face ).
