TWO REELS GOOD AIR GUITAR CHECKPOINT

A couple of weekends ago The Pistette and I ran the Air Guitar checkpoint at the Bike Film Festival 'Two Reels Good' Treasure Cat. Armed with an ipod dock, some wigs, a flask of White Russian and a Vojtech we set out to deliver some real culture to the Film Festival philistines.
It's a well kept ( until now ) secret that I was Scotland's first Air Guitar champion* back in 2001 so it was that illustrious qualification that got me the gig judging some of the poorest examples of Air guitar I've ever seen. The checkpoint task was pretty basic: choose a song from a selection of metal, rock and punk songs ( I even spent 79p downloading some Bon Jovi so the people who hate rock music would have something to pick ) then air guitar along to it until I was satisfied that I had got a photograph worthy of posting on HOP. Simple. Well, all I can say is thank God for digital cameras, because it took some people ten shots before they struck a decent pose and even then half of them aren't good enough to get shown on here. Even if the only band you'd ever been into was Wham! you should still know how to air guitar along to it, I mean Andrew Ridgeley made a career out of it.
It wasn't all pop-doom and techno-gloom though and for once I actually came back from an al**ycat with some photographs** so here are the best:

This pic is all the better when you find out it was taken barely two bars into the song.
Note Johnny throwing a three horned goat.

Bongo wore the 'balding punk' wig which was really wispy so you can imagine the headbanging commitment required to get it to fly out like that. Well done Bongo 10/10.
There's a lot of spandex going on in this pic.

By this point the action has moved onto the 'stage'. All the better to pull off Angus Young style manoeuvres.

People who weren't even racing turn up to throw down some riffs.

Merc Smasher Ryan turn up on his Cinelli tall bike with Robin and stayed for ages.
( They still managed to come second over all in the Treasure Cat )

Robin has the Jimmy hat in his mouth because they're Air Guitaring to ZZ-Top and it's supposed to be a beard.

During all of this the crowd was going fucking MENTAL!

*Before you ask, it was 'You Shook Me All Night Long' by AC/DC.
**And a champagne ice-bucket but that's a whole other story.
