Yesterday a rider died whilst racing in the Tour da Chicago. We're not going to comment on the actual incident, we weren't there.
Over the years members of House of Pistard have organised, raced in and sponsored Alleycats so Yes, we do encourage this sort of behaviour. There has been some pointless debate as to whether this actually was an Alleycat as it was over a set course, but it was an illegal street race in live traffic with no course marshalls so why argue over a technicality. Every rider competing in an Alleycat knows the risks, Matthew Manger-Lynch knew the risks, he wasn't a rookie and he was responsible enough to be wearing a helmet but this time it went horribly wrong.
Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.
There is a forum discussion about the incident including a report from an eyewitness here
